Learn moreA canola weed control system that offers producers differentiated marketing and management opportunities.
Our history is important to us. It’s what gives us the ability to offer a system that is proven and reliable.
Historically, Clearfield® has been a brand that growers can depend on when it comes to protecting their canola from flushing weeds. We work hard to provide growers the support they need for success. Farmers know that they can rely on us for multiple Clearfield benefits:
• One-pass and flushing weed control system that delivers reliable post emergent control of grass and broadleaf weeds.
• Alternative mode of action to manage previous crop volunteers, including control of volunteer canola.
• Identity Preserved (IP) marketing programs allow farmers to access premium canola marketing options.
Tighter rotations increase pressure for disease and resistance. The Clearfield canola weed control system for canola and high-performing canola hybrids is the solution for this. When it comes to achieving best results, a 1-in-3-year canola rotation is recommended and if growers don't follow the recommendation, they should at least rotate canola systems.
By rotating to Clearfield canola seed hybrids and herbicides, growers can effectively manage future volunteer canola systems such as LibertyLink®.

Clearfield® questions we thought you might have.
Clearfield is a weed control system combining specific herbicides and seeds from crop varieties that have been traditionally bred for herbicide tolerance and high yields.
Clearfield herbicides allows growers to customize weed control for pressures specific to their crops while maintaining sustainability in resistance management plans.
No. All registered or soon-to-be registered Clearfield canola varieties were developed using traditional plant breeding methods. Therefore, Clearfield crops are treated as non-GMO, conventional crops and are approved for export worldwide.
One of the benefits of the Clearfield canola weed control system is exceptional weed control with one effective product, eliminating time and energy in decision making.
Ares™SN herbicide was specifically designed to meet the needs of Clearfield canola growers. It’s the only herbicide you’ll need. It offers consistent and reliable control of tough grass and broadleaf weeds such as wild buckwheat, cleavers and volunteer glyphosate-tolerant canola as well as subsequent flushes of some key Western Canadian weeds.
Ares SN is not registered in the Peace River Region of Alberta and British Columbia. Contact Corteva Agriscience™ for specific herbicide recommendations.
The Corteva TUA is an agreement between a grower and Corteva Agriscience™ that serves as a license, allowing the grower to access the benefits of The Clearfield Production System technology. If growers have not yet signed a Corteva TUA, a signed agreement will be required for the 2020 growing season. In the case of Clearfield canola, growers pay a fee of $70/bag when they purchase seed.
